Real Estate & Facilities (RE&F), in close collaboration with Erasmus Digitalization & Information Services (EDIS), provides underlying services for Professional services, educational spaces, workplaces, housing and campus facilities. Providing (physically) inspiring, properly functioning and efficient housing, so that students, employees and visitors can perform optimally and feel at home at EUR locations. The Real Estate & Facilities department consists of the departments: Strategy, Real Estate, Facility Services, Procurement and Support Office.
Department
The Real Estate department is responsible for the entire real estate of the University and consists of two teams: the Projects team and the Maintenance team. We are looking for a Project Manager to manage the Projects team. The Projects team includes project managers and project leaders for new and renovation projects and facility projects. This sub-department is responsible for all new construction, renovation and redesign projects of our real estate, as well as the facility projects that relate to the services of RE&F of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Real Estate Project Manager
0.8-1.0 FTE
Introduction
In this role of Real Estate Project Manager you will be deployed on various complex real estate projects on the campus of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). This includes large and complex conversion projects, renovation projects, new construction projects and tender projects. You are independently responsible for the implementation of these projects in collaboration with stakeholders: from initiation phase to transfer to the management organization. In addition, you are a source of information for the project leaders and you guide the real estate project leaders on the project results to be achieved. You coach/direct the Real Estate Project Leaders functionally and are responsible for their development.
Job description
As a Real Estate Project Manager, you develop a project assignment into an operational project plan and you are the team leader of the Projects team. You ensure that the project plan is implemented and coordinate various parties. You are also responsible for the periodic reports of the project plan. During the project you are responsible for the practical project coordination and the necessary executive activities. You monitor/inspect the progress of the agreed quality and take corrective measures if there are any deviations. Of course, you also ensure adequate administration within your own projects and you are responsible for the administration of the project leaders’ ongoing projects. You have periodic reports drawn up on project statuses and report them to the Real Estate department head. You are also responsible for implementing processes surrounding projects and you are responsible for both their closure and evaluation.
As Project Manager:
- Manage your internal project employees and/or third parties based on the project plan.
- You functionally manage the project leaders, the supervisor and the project assistant.
- Conduct your development discussions (R&D) in consultation with the Real Estate department head.
The Project Manager & Team Leader reports hierarchically to the Real Estate department head.
Job requirements
You are strong in planning, organizing, creating support, managing agreements made and have good communication skills. In addition, you take with you:
- Minimum HBO working and thinking level, preferably with relevant training in real estate.
- At least five years of work experience in the field of real estate management.
- At least three years of work experience as a project leader/manager in the real estate field.
- Preferably experience with complex organizations such as a university or another (semi-)governmental institution.
- Experience in the field of housing projects.
- Good communication skills in Dutch, both spoken and written (minimum B2 level in accordance with CEFR).
- You have the ambition to develop yourself and your work and always look for challenges.
- You are people-oriented and can communicate clearly and get people on board at both a tactical and strategic level.

Employment conditions
We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent employment conditions in accordance with the Collective Employment Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).
The start date of the position is in consultation. The salary depends on your knowledge and experience and for a full-time appointment (38 hours) is between € 5,247 and € 6,737 gross per month (scale 12), in accordance with the NU collective labor agreement. Your location is Campus Woudestein – Rotterdam, at the Real Estate & Facilities department (RE&F). The position has a size of 0.8 FTE – 1.0 FTE.
