The ladies of Kangaroos Mechelen will compete in the EuroCup Women this season. They do not do this in Mechelen’s Winketkaai, but in the practice complex of Telenet Giants Antwerp, the Heylen Vastgoed Basket Campus in Merksem.

The Belgian champion and cup winner is in group E with Panathinaikos Athens (Greece), Besiktas Istanbul (Turkey) and the Slovakian Slavia Bystrica. Kangaroos Mechelen opens the European campaign on October 12 in Merksem against Panathinaikos Athens. A week later, the Turkish top club Bestiktas Istanbul will travel to the Heylen Vastgoed Basket Campus.

The top 2 and the eight best thirds are qualified for the play-offs. From that moment on, a knockout system is used. Kangaroos Mechelen starts the EuroCup Women with a lot of ambition. The Mechelen top club of coach Arvid Diels has five foreigners, including WNBA player Ray Burrell (Los Angeles Sparks), Belgian Cat Laure Resimont, ex-Belgian Cat Heleen Nauwelaers and many young talent.
