Dalata will invest millions in the new addition to the Amsterdam American Hotel

The Dalata Hotel Group has completed the acquisition of the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American, the Irish hotel operator announced in a press release on Wednesday. The hotel is taken over from the Zien Group and renamed Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American.

Dalata has announced that it wants to invest more than 4.5 million euros in the coming years to further improve the American building. “This is a very exciting day for the Dalata team as we officially announce the acquisition of the Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American. This characteristic hotel has been offering renowned Amsterdam hospitality for more than 100 years. It is an excellent addition to our Clayton Hotels portfolio,” says CEO Dermot Crowley. “We look forward to embracing the building’s rich heritage and maintaining its position as a premium destination for visitors to Amsterdam.”

“I would like to thank the Zien Group team for their support during the transaction, which contributed to a seamless transition. Also a particularly warm welcome to the staff at the hotel as they join the wider Dalata family. We recognize that our people define our success, reflect our culture and provide a welcoming experience for our guests. We are confident that our newest team members will continue to deliver exceptional service at the Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American.”

Billy Skelli-Cohen, CEO of the Zien Group, explains why the American is being sold: “The decision to sell the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American is in line with our broader vision for the group. Our current focus is on refining the Eden brand and reimagining some of our current properties to form a new hotel concept. We have enjoyed working with the Dalata team throughout this process and wish them the best of luck as they write the next chapter for this great hotel. In the meantime, we are fully committed to growth and are actively seeking opportunities to acquire and reposition properties in Europe and the UK.”
