‘250 bodies found on festival site’ • US brings military ships and planes closer to Israel

Zaka, an Israeli volunteer group that responds to terror attacks and other disasters, says it has already found more than 250 bodies at a festival site in the south of the country. A spokesperson for the group said this to various Israeli media.

Hamas fighters on Saturday attacked participants attending a rave near the border with the Gaza Strip. Countless people are said to have been kidnapped from the festival site to the Gaza Strip. The media quoted eyewitnesses who spoke of a massacre. Videos circulating online show the revelers fleeing from the attackers’ shots.

Many parents of young people who attended the rave at Kibbutz Re’im on Saturday have been searching for news about their missing children since yesterday.

The music festival at the kibbutz had the theme of peace and peacefulness. Numerous artists performed, including from abroad.

As far as we know, there were visitors from Japan, France, Mexico, Brazil, Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom, among others.

One of the dead is Israeli former footballer Lior Assulin. This was confirmed by his club Hapoel Tel Aviv on X.

It is unclear whether Israeli authorities included the bodies found by Zaka in their official death toll from the Hamas attack, which now exceeds 700.
