If the three countries are awarded the global football tournament, Mayor Aboutaleb expects Rotterdam to become one of the host cities. Since the city has ‘the most attractive stadium in Europe’. But then De Kuip must be upgraded, according to the council. The municipality of Rotterdam expects that around 1.7 million euros will have to be invested to bring the World Cup to Rotterdam.

In addition to Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Enschede and Heerenveen are also possible host cities for the Women’s World Cup in the Netherlands. It is expected that there will be three Dutch host cities left where World Cup matches will be played.
