Zuiver Vastgoed-Novaform, Magis Real Estate, Waterford, Redevco Living and Woonfront-FiMek have signed an agreement with the municipality of Capelle aan den IJssel for the construction of 4,500 homes.
“A moment of cheer,” councilor Harriët Westerdijk called signing the cooperation agreement. “This agreement shows that we are getting a little closer to the conversion of the business park and will soon be able to realize several thousand new homes in Rivium.” She complimented the developers who, in difficult economic times, take risks and continue to tirelessly search for housing opportunities.
In the agreement, developers and the municipality have made agreements about how they will jointly develop Rivium and it describes which planning procedures must be completed in the near future. The intention is to start construction of the first apartments in 2026.
Ultimately, around 5,500 new homes will be built in Rivium. The emphasis is on stacked construction. A number of office buildings are being converted into homes, other buildings are being demolished and replaced by new construction. Eye-catchers will be two residential towers of more than 130 meters in height. Most residential towers will have a height of up to 70 meters. There will also be restaurants, terraces, shops including a supermarket, a doctor’s office and a physiotherapist. There is also talk of a school and a house in the neighborhood.
