The Municipal Executive recently presented the multi-year budget. A clear story with room for investments.
CDA Horst aan de Maas considers investing in village strength to be an important spearhead. Vital social facilities are of great importance for the quality of life in our villages.
Maintaining and strengthening the village halls (and MFAs and BMVs) is a current and important topic. There may also be a lot of changes in our villages in the field of sports facilities. Various associations are working on merger or collaboration plans. It is important that we as a municipality deal with this proactively and actively support and facilitate villages and associations.
These themes are clearly reflected in the budget for the coming years, and that is a positive development. The council will be working on an accommodation policy plan in the coming year. As far as we are concerned, the aim of this plan should be to preserve social functions in our villages as much as possible, and to strengthen them where possible. In this way we continue to invest in village strength.
As a faction we also contribute to strengthening village strength. For example, last year the municipal council passed motions on our initiative about the preservation of village fairs in our municipality and research into a possible new sports accommodation for Lottum and Grubbenvorst. So we don’t just stick to nice words, but we work on what we find important.
