The good weather, the tasty tapas and the slower pace of life… many people nowadays emigrate to Spain for a different life. Belgians are also buying real estate en masse under the Spanish sun and this did not go unnoticed by Chapter, the subsidiary of Immo Francois. The Bruges real estate company is therefore opening an office in Marbella. “One of the most important investment hotspots in Southern Europe,” says CEO Dries François.
More than 200,000 Belgians have a permanent home or second residence abroad. The favorite destination? Without a doubt Spain. The country accounts for almost 40 percent of purchases and stands head and shoulders above the rest as a destination.
The Costa Blanca is very popular and the Costa del Sol is also gaining in popularity. The good weather plays a major role in this, but the cheaper lifestyle also appeals greatly to Belgians. “At the same time, there is also a lot to experience,” says Dries François. “There are many trendy beach clubs and excellent restaurants. All this together makes this one of the most important investment hotspots in Southern Europe.”
Luxury segment
The Bruges real estate company Immo Francois decides to jump on the bandwagon and moves to Marbella, Spain, with its subsidiary Chapter. “Spain is a competitive market, but there are still many opportunities, especially in the luxury segment,” says Dries François. “We have been playing with the idea of expanding our field of action for some time.”
The company was looking for the ideal partner for a long time and found it in real estate agent Arjen Spittael. “We know that the competition is fierce, but we do of course have a number of assets with which we think we can make a difference.”
Spanish network
Real estate agent Arjen Spittael is therefore supporting the Spanish project and hopes to convince many people with a ‘hyper-personal’ approach. “I have built up such a network and I also know Spanish legislation,” says Arjen.
Arjen has already earned his stripes, because the young entrepreneur helped put Ghent Immo Francois on the map before he moved to Spain himself.
