The realization of the Mechatronics Innovation Campus Schiedam (MICS) is now really starting. Metrohm Applikon is the first company to establish itself in the new hotspot for the mechatronics industry.
On October 11, Metrohm Applikon and SDK Vastgoed signed the purchase and development agreement for a new business premises for Metrohm of 7,500 m². Completion is expected in early 2025. It is the start of the 42 hectare MICS campus development.
Work location
This development is an important step for both MICS and Metrohm. As one of the forerunners in the area, Metrohm is creating the work location of the future.
The flexible construction system makes offices and business space easily interchangeable. The current plan even offers the possibility of expanding within the plot boundaries in the future.
Mechatronics ecosystem
MICS is working on a sustainable mechatronics ecosystem in which entrepreneurs, municipalities and education work intensively together on economic and personal development. Metrohm has been a participant from the very beginning and a true ambassador of MICS. For example, they are one of the drivers of the talent pool. Within this pool, school leavers can work every six months within one of the participating companies.
Metrohm Applikon, part of the Metrohm Group, is an international organization and was founded 75 years ago in Herisau, Switzerland.
