Velsen-Zuid – On Saturday, October 14 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Odd Fellows of Velsen will hold another book market in their association building at Stationsweg 95 in Velsen-Zuid. Parking is available in the immediate vicinity, including in the parking lot on the corner with the Min. Van Houtenlaan.
The stock of books is constantly being supplemented with good quality books, which is why they are in great demand among many. Most books can be purchased for a bargain price. A special book is priced a little higher. The Odd Fellows van Velsen count on many visitors.
The proceeds from this book market will, as always, benefit a social project to which the Odd Fellows are fully committed. This year the charity is to provide a financial contribution to the redevelopment of the Pieter Vermeulen Museum after their move from Driehuis to IJmuiden. In this well-known educational and child-friendly museum in Velsen and the surrounding area, children can learn everything about nature and the environment.
The organization of these projects is in the hands of the Social Activities Committee of the IJmond Lodge (for men) and the Duinroos Lodge (for women). The Odd Fellows of Velsen regularly opt for projects that are locally or regionally bound and that are not subsidized or insufficiently subsidized and are therefore partly dependent on donations. Based on their social mission, Odd Fellows feel involved in society and in particular with groups of people or associations that could use some extra financial help.
