There are fun activities to enjoy at Fort Kijkduin during the autumn holidays.

The new exhibition in the North Sea Aquarium is called ‘Attack & Defend’. Visitors learn here how (sea) animals attack and how they defend themselves. Young cat sharks swim in the shark tank. These are beautiful light sharks with a lot of black spots and they can eventually grow up to one and a half meters in size. The smaller dogfish with more brown spots also swims there. Although both sharks have multiple rows of teeth, the sharks are harmless. Visitors are allowed to feed them by hand. There is a fish feed machine near the walk-through tunnel where you can buy some shrimp or mussels for one euro per bag. Rays and sharks can be fed with this fish food bag. Because the sharks receive a measured amount of food every day, the supply is limited. There is also food available for the fish in the tunnel, the bream and bass are super fast.

Fish feeding tours

What do North Sea animals eat? An animal caretaker takes visitors along and tells them all about their diet. The feeding tours can be followed daily (with the exception of Fridays). The fish feeding tours in the walk-through tank or wreck tank start at 12.30 pm. The shark and ray feeding tour starts at 2:30 PM and the small animals are fed at 3:30 PM.
