To temporarily support the Real Estate department at a municipality, we are actively recruiting an interim Area/Project Developer for 24 hours a week.

Job description

As an area/project developer you are able to direct complex projects. You do this with various institutions and parties in the city and with colleagues from the municipality. To achieve this, you have spatial knowledge and experience with area/project development such as spatial planning, construction, infrastructure, real estate or location development.

You set clear lines and scale up if necessary. Makes integrated assessments and consults with colleagues, external parties and management. You are responsible for the project and focused on achieving results within the preconditions of time, money and quality and good administrative control of the project. You manage both costs and revenues. You ensure a balanced contribution from the project participants/disciplines.

As an area/project developer, you supervise the development process with residents, colleagues and parties in the planning area. You have regular contact with the director about this and you use your extensive experience with administrative cooperation. You know how essential it is to gain social support for projects that have major consequences for the daily functioning of the city. This temporary position requires good coordination and cooperation with a fellow project developer, where you are sometimes in the lead in a project and sometimes following and/or supporting.

This is what is asked

In order to be able to perform the work properly, you have completed training at HBO+/academic level and at least 5 years of demonstrable experience with large-scale area developments. We would like to know the following from your CV:

  • You are a doer, resistant to stress, you perform well under time pressure and can deal with setbacks, complications and opposition.
  • You are resourceful in making the right decisions.
  • You are enterprising, results-oriented, have courage and dare to take and manage risks. Collaboration is paramount and you know how to maintain the balance between quality, resources and time.
  • You are politically and administratively sensitive. You have extensive experience in administrative-official interplay, preferably within a municipality.
  • You have excellent process and communication skills and you enjoy managing teams and connecting your partners.
  • You ensure that the plans are actually realized, on time and within budget.
