Leuven security company Sweepatic in Swedish hands

The Leuven cybersecurity specialist Sweepatic is taken over by its Swedish sector colleague Outpost24. He wants to integrate the solution of the people of Leuven into his own security offering.

Sweepatic is a specialist in external attack surface management (EASM), cyber jargon for monitoring a company’s digital footprint. In essence, EASM means that you screen every point of contact with the internet in a company to prevent leaks. The blind spots – undiscovered exposures – are also mapped out.

The Swedes of Outpost24 see Sweepatic’s technology as the ideal addition to their own range. “The combination of Sweepatic’s innovative technology with the Outpost24 platform is the best way to prevent possible attacks,” said CEO Karl Thedéen in a press release.

For Sweepatic, the scale of the larger Outpost – which is also present in the United Kingdom and the US, among others – means a wider reach for its own technology. “This acquisition allows us to accelerate our vision and complement Outpost24’s existing offering on a global scale,” said Sweepatic founder Stijn Vande Casteele.

Financial details of the deal are not being released. It is known that Sweepatic previously tanked money at various funds. These include the Flemish investment company PMV, the Dutch TIIN Capital and the German eCapital Entrepreneurial Partners.
