Purmerend – On Saturday, October 14, students from the police in Purmerend carried out an extensive check, working together with various authorities, including the tax authorities. A total of 109 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 47 fines and significant tax collections.
During the inspection, several violations came to light. A total of 47 fines were issued for various violations of traffic rules. The most common violations were holding a mobile electronic device, failing to produce a driver’s license, and ignoring closed orders. Tickets were also issued for speeding, not using child seats, and driving without a driver’s license.
Not only traffic violations were found, but also some vehicles showed serious technical defects and were not allowed to continue driving. In addition, the inspection noted that some drivers were under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

The tax authorities played a crucial role in this audit and managed to collect no less than 23,101 euros in tax debt. In addition, four vehicles were seized, which meant they were not allowed to continue driving. Two other vehicles were also seized, but were allowed to continue driving for the time being.
In addition to the fines, warnings were also issued, mainly for not being able to show an ID and for slippery tires. Striking was a warning about the transport of crabs, which was considered animal cruelty.
The inspection was held on the fire brigade premises on Waterlandlaan. Several motorcycle police officers picked out drivers and escorted them to the site.
