Orders that are not delivered, customer service that is barely accessible and canceled orders that are not refunded or are refunded with great difficulty. This is a selection of the dozens of complaints that consumer program Radar received about electronics company Refurbished.nl.
In 2021, a Facebook group was started called ‘Victims of Refurbished.nl’, of which more than three hundred people are members. But lately there seems to be an increase in the number of complaints. The company received 576 1-star reviews on Trustpilot in the past year. Of these, more than half were posted in the past three months.
Refurbished.nl has been a major player in the field of refurbished electronics for years. The company sells used devices that are given a second life through a refurbishment. They do this through 32 suppliers. In 2020, the site received the Shopping Award ‘Ecommerce50’ for the fastest growing E-commerce company in the Netherlands.
According to director Joost Angelier, the company has had some technical problems with suppliers. As a result, duplicate products were ordered and products were not in stock.
